The top quarry has been operating for about 12 years and the operators were cutting the sandstone for retaining walls and the current owner was crushing it for roadbase.
There is a water bore on site, which is 205 feet deep and still in good hard sandstone and very good quality water.
Permit allows extraction of up to 100,000 tons each year which can be screen crushed and processed on site.
The bottom quarry is very extra hard and clean sandstone. Previous operator was crushing then washing it for concrete plants. 10 hectares is the largest area that can disturb at one time. There is power to both quarries.
