Unquestionably a blue ribbon location and destination, next door to the Shaw and Smith Vineyard and Winery, also Nepenthe Vineyard, Wine Tasting and Cellar Door Outlet.
A sound water supply from a huge reliable 81.5 mega litre dam with a current Water Allocation of 10.2 hectares for strawberries (which exceeds this vineyard requirement).
There are two large sheds on the property one 15 metres x 7 metres with three-phase power, two front sliding doors and concrete flooring. The other an exceptionally well built industrial grade with significant RSJ posts and roofing trusses 25.4 x 12.4 x 4.2 (door height), fully insulated on all walls and the roof, three large sliding doors, significant cement flooring, a 4.5 metre verandah, Industrial lighting, light and power plus 3 phase power. There are also 3 x 10,000 gallon PVC rain water tanks, all interconnected, providing water via a pressure pump situated inside the shed. There is also a sump facility inside the shed.
The whole property offers a new professionally designed and installed integrated irrigation system with PVC sub main lines, drip lines, control valves, isolation valves and collection manifold. The Netafirm system is installed in a new 16′ x 12′ pump shed situated near the dam with an Alka Spin Klin full vertigation unit, 3 auto clean filters, a Toro Micro Master Metafin system and a Grundfos CR45 pump, plus another Grundfos pressure pump providing tap water via a separate filter to both sheds. There is also a sub mains installed for frost protection, however no further work has been done to complete as the facility hasn’t been required.
The vineyard is approximately 26 acres in total, of which there is approximately 15 acres of Sauvignon Blanc, approximately 6 acres of Shiraz and approximately 5 acres of Pinot. The Sauvignon Blanc was planted in 2005 and the remainder in 2006.
