Welcome to Aberfoyle Park

Aberfoyle Park is an established residential area. Aberfoyle Park is bounded by Manning Road and Black Road in the north, the locality of Chandlers Hill, the western edge of Clarendon Lutheran Camp and Mount Malvern Road in the east, Chandlers Hill Road and Widebanks Road in the south and generally by the Happy Valley Highway in the west. Aberfoyle Park is thought to be named after a place in Perthshire, Scotland.

Settlement of the area dates from the 1850s, with land used mainly for farming, grazing and vineyards. Significant development did not occur until the post-war years, with rapid growth between the 1960s and 1980s. The Hub was developed as a major regional centre in the 1980s, containing a large shopping complex, schools, churches, health and business services, clubs and the administrative and operational centre for the former Happy Valley Council. The population increased during the 1990s, and then was relatively stable between 2001 and 2006, a result of some new dwellings being added, but a decline in average household size.

Major features of the area include The Hub Shopping Centre, The Hub Recreation Centre, Thalassa Park, Happy Valley Oval, Lotus Reserve, Simpson Reserve and a number of schools.
