Area Profile – Milang is a small township located approximately 80 kilometres south-east of Adelaide and 22 kilometres or 15 minutes from the heritage and antiques town of Strathalbyn. On the shores of Lake Alexandrina, Milang is essentially part of the agricultural and grape growing area of the Langhorne Creek wine region with the nearest large population centres being Mount Barker and Victor Harbour. It is an easy drive to Clayton, (where one can moor large sailing vessels at the Clayton Bay Yacht Club) and the south coast towns of Goolwa, Middleton and Port Elliot. The townships of Strathalbyn and Langhorne Creek are all less than 10 minutes drive away. There is an excellent range of shops available at both Strathalbyn and Goolwa for all of the day to day essentials, gifts, art & craft & clothing.
The Caravan Park is set amidst attractive lawns and trees and is just a few steps away from the Lake foreshore where families can find many different activities, including fishing, sail-boarding, swimming in safe water, bird-watching or just enjoying the sun in peaceful surroundings.

The Milang School is now one of the campuses of the Eastern Fleurieu School. The Eastern Fleurieu R-12 School being the largest area school in South Australia and has its main campus at Strathalbyn. The school bus transports children to the Area School at Strathalbyn for the Middle School and Senior School years. R-12 private schools are well represented in Strathalbyn, Goolwa and Mt Barker.
A fully accredited and long established medical practice provides comprehensive medical care. There are also large medical centres at both Goolwa and Strathalbyn, offering a full range of GP services and some specialist services. There is a large District Hospital at Mount Barker. Sporting and recreational facilities are available.

Today Milang is a delightful holiday resort on the water’s edge. It is an ideal destination for campers and caravanners. The reed-edged lake is an ideal retreat for people who want to escape from the more busy holiday destinations. The town boasts a fantastic bakery, comfortable and well patronised hotel and a popular cafe/takeaway as well as a deli and craft shop.
