In perfect conditions, River Estates First National conducted a large clearing sale on Friday at the property of Brian and Pat Brown, at Punthari (North of Mannum). Three local retired farmers decided join together to hold a clearing sale to sell their excess farm machinery, furniture and sundry items. River Estates invited further entries and by the time the sale commenced there were a total of 18 vendors, which showed the trust and confidence the vendors have in Auctioneer Wayne Chadwick and his team.
One of the vendors was the Mid Murray Council, who elected to sell off surplus machinery and equipment, all of which sold for excellent returns.
This clearing sale was the first Brian Brown had hosted himself, as over the past 30 years he had conducted many sales, as a professional auctioneer, and he was more than pleased how the day went. Brian said " The crowd was excellent, with approx 350 people in attendance, and although there was numerous vendors, all items where of good quality and I was extremely pleased that above average prices achieved from most items sold."
Auctioneer, Wayne Chadwick did an excellent job ensuring bids were taken at every opportunity, and kept the day moving along smoothly. River Estates First National conducted the sale with results that pleased all vendors, some of the items sold included a Chamberlain Scarifier $4,500, HB Harrows $2300, two 8′ x 5′ trailers $1,500 each, NH Hay rake $2,000, two mobile Fuel tanks $1,100 each, Dinghy $550, Fergy TEA Tractor $2,000.
