Mannum Waters marina and residential development will:
1.
Provide 600 allotments on the 170-hectare site, of which about 160 will be waterfront allotments
2.
Have a mix of homes, retail, cafes, restaurants, tourism centre and environmental interpretive centre
3.
Accommodate 156 berths for houseboats to reduce environmental impact and erosion caused by permanent moorings on the river
4.
Be filled in stages with purchased water under normal trading conditions
5.
Have large wetlands with extensive revegetation. Approximately 600,000 trees and shrubs will be planted in reserves and the wetlands
6.
Rehabilitate the degraded flood plain with the change in use from grazing to a marina reducing pollution into the wetland and river
7.
Have a new sewage facility that will reuse and reclaim wastewater that will be built away from the river to service the marina and township. The existing sewage treatment ponds on the floodplain will be removed
8.
Complement the existing township of Mannum
9.
Create more than 200 jobs during the construction phase and nearly 100 permanent full-time positions when the development is completed
10.
Have an area dedicated to preserving the natural habitat and Aboriginal cultural heritage sites which are suffering degradation.
