Enjoy uninterrupted sea views, beautiful sunrises and sunsets and watch the schools of fish in the bay below you as you enjoy your own piece of paradise that is Thistle Island.

Allotment 23 is part of the only development on the island so you can be rest assured that the exclusiveness and peacefulness will remain. Located on the north facing side of the island and measuring 1620m2, the position enjoys views over Whalers Bay.

Activities abound for those who are adventurous, explore the sensational fishing spots surrounding the island and within the Sir Joseph Banks Group along with a few good reef breaks for surfing and lots of opportunity to take in the wonder of the native flora and fauna. For the more relaxed, the island provides the perfect amount of isolation for a welcomed relief.

Sixteen kilometers in length and five kilometers wide, Thistle Island is the second largest island off the coast of South Australia. This little paradise is blessed with good weather for the summer months and receives most of its rain in winter.

For those arriving or departing by air, there are two private air strips on the island; one capable of handling larger aircraft up to 10 seats. Flying time from Port Lincoln is around 15 minutes, and only 45 minutes direct from Adelaide.

If arriving by boat there are numerous safe anchorages all around the island. Whaler’s Bay is among the most popular and is in fact rated as being one of the best natural anchorages in South Australia. Sailing time from Port Lincoln is approximately 2 1/2 hours.

All plant, equipment and stock is ferried from Port Lincoln by barge and an electric crane is available at Whaler’s Bay for loading and unloading.
