This property has great context, adjoining the Rocka Rivulet Nature Reserve, the Butlers Ridge Nature Reserve and the Swanston Private Nature Reserve. The reservation of this property protects an extensive area of forest containing a diverse range of habitats, including 40ha of vulnerable blue gum (Eucalyptus globulus) grassy forest and 105ha of old growth forest. The area provides important habitat for a number of threatened species, including the endangered Tasmanian Wedge-tailed eagle, Swift Parrot and Tasmanian Devil
