Underneath the north-eastern tip of the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage area is a 2.023ha bush block with access to a permanent creek on a north facing slope.

Along with title to 2.023ha (approx 5 acres) comes a share in an additional 54ha of forested land. The block is part of a larger 84ha communal property on which there are 10 independent titles of 2ha each. The common ground is accessible to all title owners.

Most of the property is covered by a conservation covenant and is registered under the “Land for Wildlife” programme as a place where Tasmania’s unique flora and fauna is protected.

The property has established community infrastructure and a shared history of cooperation and nature conservation. The nearest town is Meander, nestled under the mountains with a small primary school, shop and post office.

Deloraine is 20 minutes away and is widely regarded as the centre of community art and craft for Tasmania. It hosts the largest craft exhibition in the southern hemisphere annually, and many artists and craftspeople have chosen to reside in the surrounding district. It is a thriving small town with a big heart.
