In 1925 at the age of 20 Madge Hull, dragging her suitcase, enquired at Yarra Junction how to get to Beenak. "Up the Bump but you’ll have to walk as there’s no truck now". Times have changed since then and it’s no longer such a journey to this pristine part of the world.
Approx 15 minutes from Gembrook. An opportunity exists to secure a parcel of just under 27 acres adjoining Bunyip State Park. Wander through stands of towering eucalypts and lush tree ferns. Ideal to build a dream home, B&B or retreat.
A large piece of gorgeous Victorian bush (with some clearings) just outside of town. It is so stunning you would think it should be heritage listed….. oh wait, in fact a little part of it actually is! It is still close enough to the city, but just far enough to have a place where you can be alone to enjoy the serenity, the wonderful fresh air and the soothing sounds of nature. Surrounded by State Parks (Bunyip, Kurth Kiln & Yarra State Forest), no residential blocks touch this heaven.
Beenak East road flows past about 1.5km of this property, giving ample access opportunity for whatever development you might wish to create anywhere on the property. One driveway is in place leading about halfway onto the property. The property is on a hill ridge and has mostly lightly sloping terrain which is very usable. Tomahawk Creek is said to start here. DIRECTIONS HOW TO GET THERE: Come and have a look for yourself. Our agent is more than willing to take you here and show you the property, but if you wish to do a bit of exploring on your own here is how to get there.
From Gembrook, drive north on the C424 Gembrook Launching Place Road for 11km. Just past a big winery on your right, you then turn right into Beenak road.
Follow Beenak Road for 7.5km to a 4 way intersection. Drive straight across and that is Beenak East road. The driveway of the property is 400m south from there. Local maps can be purchased from the post office.
WALKING TRACKS: To help you soak up the beauty and serenity, we have set out some amateur walking paths on the property tagged with colours ribbon’s on trees. Giving you a route to follow if you wish to use them. Start with PINK. Veer of into YELLOW if you still want to see more. If you don’t like too much walking, then just take GREEN which leads you straight up the middle. Leave markers in place please and report if the track seems incomplete.
FREE DVD: We have put together a DVD, showing over 25 min of footage on how to get there, the area, Gembrook, the property it self, the walking tracks and more. We would be delighted to send one out to you at no charge, so you can appreciate is opportunity from the comfort of your home before venturing out. Its also a great way to get the opinion of friends and family.
We have put bits of this DVD on a YouTube link here for instant access, but as you know the clarity and quality is far from a DVD and does not do the property justice.
