Picture yourself living in this grand old lady, The Adelphi Hotel, in the historic township of Inglewood only 40 minutes from Bendigo. Currently converted to a residential residence the building includes 4 rooms, bathroom, kitchen and cellar on the ground floor and 5 rooms plus 2nd bathroom on the first floor. Still retaining many of its grand features, that were born out of the gold money in the boom times of the central gold fields, the building has undergone work by the current owner and includes 2 modern bathrooms, solar installation and various other renovation. With a lot of the hard work done there is scope to further finish off the works and restore this building to a real show piece. With dual use zoning, this property could suit the owner occupier, business operator, or professional looking for a change in lifestyle and a pace that a country town can offer.

The History – This hotel was built for Mr. John Lawson prior to 1863. A special Crown Lands purchase agreement dated 4th September 1861 states that he paid 6 pound, 17 Schillings & sixpence for the site. The Licenses Reduction Board delicensed the hotel in September 1914. After this it was used as a grocery and gold buyer’s store and later as the Adelphi Cafe’ and Cash Store. The Seaman brothers operated a greengrocery and a confectionery store from 1941 to 1977. In 2001 it finally closed as a shop and is now used as a residence.
