Circa 1851 to 1869 this grand old building was formerly a hotel on the mail coach trail through Pyalong, on its way to Bendigo, where they stabled fresh horses for the coaches. Originally occupied by the Cook family, who came to Pyalong from Ireland in 1857.

The White Harte Hotel is a typical mid-nineteenth century weatherboard hotel.
Situated on a corner site, with return skillion verandah, original windows and doorways. Plus notable outbuildings including stables.
