On offer for the first time in its illustrious history is the former governor’s quarters circa 1864. The quarters were constructed by prison labour from granite taken from the onsite quarry behind the formidable Beechworth Gaol. John Castieau is more famously known as the government representative at the public hanging of Ned Kelly. The cottages were divided into 3 individual homes during the 20th century and are now for sale as part of the Watchtower Rise development.
The cottages can be purchased as a whole or as three individual properties.
