There’s just something about this place that will! Dilapidated and gone to waste this incredible structure built in 1925 by the Morris brothers was the River Butter Factory resting creek side only ~1km out of Darnum. Originally amidst over 100 acres of bushland the site was considered fully self sufficient and only closed ~1982. The old structure along with 1 acre is available for purchase and will have your mind flowing readily with amazing possibilities. There sure is a huge amount to do – but WOW – the realisation of a dream this big is sure to be worth it.

A little history provided by the current owner:
In 1925 Morris brothers constructed the Butter Factory on 140 acre bushland setting near the river where it remains today as an icon from the early days of Cloverlea / Darnum. The site was considered fully self sufficient as charcoal was produced to power the factory’s gas charcoal engine.

Morris Brothers sold the factory in the 1950′s to Woodruff Dairies, thein in 1970 Petersville took over until it closed in 1982. To this day it stands alone and provides a unique testament to Gippsland’s history.
