Manna Ridge is 400 acres of high quality, clean pastures with fantastic native tree stock protection. Over the years of ownership the vendors have planted 21,000 trees plus many planted by direct seeding and areas of remnant bush. 30 kilometres of quality fencing provides extensive laneway system and protects the trees from stock.
The vendors have spent all of their attention, energy and funds on improving the soils dramatically from the original by extensive fertilizer and lime application. For the technically minded the olsen P for the soil varies from 12.8 to 37.4(ave 27.7), potassium 200 to 520(ave 340) and ph 5.3 to 6.3(ave 5.5). These results mean that the pastures produce magnificently throughout the year carrying 220 cow and their calves plus some young stock.
The vendors quite rightly believe that protection of stock means far better growth rates and animal welfare. It takes many years to establish pastures of this quality and the tree protection. Time is a very valuable commodity and the vendors have put in the hard yards now ready for others to enjoy!!
Excellent steel and timber stock yards with a very modern, curved V design race , bail head and ease of use to minimise cattle stress. Concrete floors in the work area.
