Take this one in a life time opportunity to purchase a unique piece of Korumburra’s history.
Standing at the top of the town, this magnificent structure has played a significant role in the development and growth of Korumburra. Being the first of its kind to be built in the shire on behalf of the newly formed Commonwealth Postmaster-General’s Office and only the third in the state, it is a rare piece of local history.

The decision to erect such a substantial and hansom building reflected the importance of Korumburra, being the largest and most prosperous town in South Gippsland at the time. The local coal mine together with the then recently established butter factory, bought prosperity to the town and had been responsible for the extraordinary growth of Korumburra.

The Federation Queen Anne style building features an attached residence with traditional decorative elements and forms. Built in extravagant style it is one of the most prominent buildings still standing in the shire.

Designed by JB Cohan and built by Neil Falconer in 1904, this unique construction is a single storey brick building with an unglazed terracotta tile roof that is characterised by the complex design gables and emphasised by an octagonal cone, and broken roof pitches. The three bedroom residence still embraces its original charm with open fire places, ceiling roses, decorative cornice, and stained glass windows; features that are surpassed with buildings of this period.
