History
The Cranage family have a long association with the Edenhope district. The homestead block was originally taken up by the Vendors Grandfather in November 1926 which is testimony to the strength and reliability of this country.
The Readers block which is approx. 199 acres was the first acquisition in the series in 1966, then the Wilderness block of 359 acres being purchased in April 2001 and the last purchase being Johnny Mahneys 436 acres in July 2003. The Cranage family have taken great pride in the care of the land with conservative stocking and encouragement of the native redgums. The irrigation dam was originally started by the Vendor’s father then extensively upgraded by the Vendor himself, doubling its capacity. The summer/cash crop area was then laser graded to enable gravity feed irrigation.
