This is the original Station Masters former house. A stone and iron dwelling constructed in 1897 in Federation Bungalow style, has Cultural Heritage significance.

This property is one of the two oldest remaining examples of railway employee housing in Kalgoorlie and is among the oldest remaining on a Goldfields railway
line.
The property is an important element in the cultural environment of the Kalgoorlie
Railway Station precinct, has been constructed in the same local granite as the Kalgoorlie station buildings.
Built in 1897 as a result of the gold boom and the subsequent construction of the Eastern Goldfields railway line which provided a rail service to the surrounding mining areas and later the Eastern States as part of the Trans-Australia Railway, making Kalgoorlie an important railway junction.

The original cottage boasts high ceilings, new carpet and a feeling of nostalgia that could not be captured in many properties throughout the Goldfields.

Situated at the rear of the cottage are two, six bedroom dongas and a bathroom donga comprising of four showers and four toilets.

The lawn area is centered in the middle of the buildings providing both privacy and a communal feeling to enjoy a catch up after a long day at work.
