The final Markey resident was a Miss Markey who worked the property until she was 92 years of age, she existed without phone and power and ran a few cow’s and sheep, had a modest milking shed and sheep handling facility along with her own garden and small orchard. The house was lost to fire in 1977 and the cause was thought to be an old kerosene fridge, the site of the old house still exists along with Moreton bay fig tree, Jacaranda tree, Almond tree and Mandarin tree.
