Some Nostalgia
The Swan Valley was declared the first humane area in Australia in 2014. The land is approximately 7 kilometers north of the intersection of Middle Swan Road and Reid Highway and approximately 4 kilometers from the intersection of West Swan Road and Great Northern Highway. The site is located in the Swan Valley Planning Act 1995 area.
Less than 30 minutes from Perth, originally part of 1095 acres of the Swan Location B area, the property is sited on over 23620 m/2 and part of the original Henley Park Estate. Its origins date back to 1911 when it was listed and in approximately 1921 Mr. Saunders built the original cottage, Saunders Street was later named after him. The home business, (Cottage) although of heritage qualities is not heritage listed. The farmhouse was built in approximately 1952, and the first olive oil tasting was held, when the property became the first olive oil retail outlet in WA in the early 2000′s. The olive oil won many bronze, silver and gold awards with best oil in the Royal Show in 2003. The cottage was turned into a bed and breakfast called “Thyme and Again” late in 2000. The restaurant was built in 2002 and opened in January 2003 and won a gold plate award 8 months after opening. The restaurant has since been renovated to a residence.

Planning permission form the City of Swan was awarded in August this year to the Cottage for Tourist Facilities.
