Take a pleasant country drive from either Donnybrook or Collie to this secluded wonderland. As you drive along the country roads you will notice some of the most picturesque scenery in the south west. From Donnybrook the rolling hills on the left look so serene. From Collie there is some stunning farmland. Just before you get to the property you go past Glen Mervyn dam. Which is a tourist, as well as locals’, hotspot for watersports such as power boating, water ski-ing etc. Or you can laze on the banks with a fishing rod in hand.
It is not often that you get to your front gate and you want to hop out and walk through the bush to explore your very own secluded bushland. Here you have 11 acres of bushland to go meandering through. Whether it is to enjoy the solitude or go wildflower spotting, it is yours to enjoy.
But within this seclusion are two different residences; all comfortable and setup for family living; or with the necessary approvals you can use them for short term holiday stays.
Firstly there is the 3 bedroom rammed earth family home which is constructed to a high standard. With the possibility of a fourth bedroom. It has a larger kitchen big enough to house two chefs. They will be spoilt by the dishwasher and walk in pantry. A formal dining area brings the outside in with views of the garden and beyond. Look up and you see an artists leadlight window feature; which leads to the formal lounge. As you enter you get a nice warm feeling from the solid fuel heater; which is also connected to the solar hot water system; so you always have piping hot water. The master bedroom; which is king size has a walk in robe big enough possibly to keep Imelda Marcos’ shoes in. The two other bedrooms both have built in robes; as with all the other rooms in the house, have scenic views of the gardens. The family bathroom has both a shower as well as a deep bath to soak the cares away in. The country style laundry is large enough to house the local cricket team let alone their whites. The games room could be used as intended or as a library or family room. Outside houses an intriguingly paved alfresco area with weatherproof blinds on the element sides. Ducted vacuuming and solar power are two of the extra features of this home.
The second residence is a reasonably new country style colourbond residence. Think small though and you will be very much mistaken. The kitchen alone is large enough to hold the kitchen table in its middle, so a family can gather around it at meal times; just like in yesteryear. It has a wood fire, airconditioning and two bedrooms as well as an office.
Outside houses a 92000l water tank as well as a great workshop/carport. Did I mention this was down the track from the first home. So privacy abounds.
Now for the pleasant surprise; which I am going to keep secret till you come and see. One hint though; remember when I mentioned the local cricket team; well this would sleep the local footy team comfortably.
Apologies for rambling but there is just so much to see. Come and have a look, bring the inlaws (or outlaws) there is plenty of room.
Whatever you do come and check out the wildflowers. Look forward to seeing you here.
