This property has an estimated amount of over 9,000,000 tonne of Donnybrook stone on it. At the moment there are two sites where the current owners are currently mining the stone from. The property has an extractive industry licence that is valid until 2024. The current owners turn the big blocks of Donnybrook stone
into tiles (dimension stone) that are used on floors or on the sides of buildings, some examples of where it has been used to great effect are Federation Square
And Saint Mary’s Cathedral.
Waste product is used to build stone walls. Donnybrook stone could also be crushed and used as a road base. The remainder of the farm is used to graze cattle on.
