Settlers Ridge wines are 100% organic. Certified for growing and for Production. Very low in natural preservative. Some wines are preservative free. Friendly to Asthma and Allergy sufferers. Vineyard – 24 acres planted, some cleared land ready for new plantings. The wine is certified 100% organic, i.e. accreditation is both for the vineyard (6107) and the winery (6115P); certified by national body NASSA which is overseen by the Federal Government body AQIS.
Located on a bitumen road, off Caves Road and also off Cowaramup Bay Road. The winery is approximately 5 minutes from the town of Cowaramup, 8 minutes from the ocean at Gracetown. The surf can be heard from the property when the waves are large. It is also only approximately 12 minutes drive to the town of Margaret River.
After winning a silver medal at the Royal Perth Show for the first vintage (1997) Settlers Ridge was runner up to Vasse Felix for best Shiraz for the 1998 vintage at the Perth Sheraton Wine Awards in 2000, further proof of the similarity in soil which produce quality wines.
Numerous awards in conventional wine shows attest to quality of wines, including five out of five stars by wine writer, James Halliday. One point off being the best Cabernet in the Margaret River Region at the Margaret River Wine Show in 2002. Also, Best Preservative Free wine at the Australian and New Zealand Wine Show in 2006.
